When we saw this popular video, we thought it would be great to give a detailed response and more information about mastitis.
Mastitis Symptoms, Definition, and Causes
Mastitis is defined as a condition when the breast tissues become inflamed. An infection can occasionally be the cause of this, but not always. Sometimes, infections are secondary. The most common types of bacteria found in mastitis infections are, not surprisingly, strains of strep and staph, which are also common causes of other types of skin infections.
Mastitis usually occurs in women who are breastfeeding. Often, it begins as a blocked milk duct. When something stops milk from coming out correctly, it can cause milk stasis, which can then lead to blockages in the ducts. If the ducts carrying milk become blocked and don't flow properly, there is a higher risk of infection. Though, occasionally, mastitis can occur in women who are not breastfeeding and, in very rare cases, in men.
Common symptoms of mastitis include pain, redness, swelling, and skin that is hot to the touch. Some who develop this condition experience flu-like symptoms like fever, chills, and fatigue. If left unresolved, this condition could result in a serious mastitis abscess, which could affect the ability of mothers to breastfeed their infants. However, from past research, we know that nursing mothers and antibiotics aren’t the best combination either. Most experts would agree that it’s best for mothers to try natural solutions before resorting to antibiotics.
An All-Natural Solution for Mom and Baby
If you have the early signs of mastitis, the Universal Salve Essential Oil-Free Formula could be just the ticket. This salve is made with all the same healing ingredients as the original universal healer, except without essential oils. So not only is it safe for applying to sensitive areas like the breast, but it's also safe for babies.
And get this… the Universal Salve not only works to help relieve the inflammation and swelling associated with mastitis but also diaper rash! It’s literally a dual solution that’s gentle and free from harsh chemicals, unlike many store-bought products.
Safety should always be important, and usually it is… to parents!
The same can’t always be said for those who manufacture baby products. Case in point, baby products often contain chemicals known as parabens. Parabens not only irritate the skin, but they can also affect hormone function, which is a pretty big deal for a growing baby's body.
This could cause problems with a child's endocrine development, which may have long-term metabolic and hormonal impacts. And what about Talc? Talcum powder, or baby powder, is commonly used to absorb moisture and prevent friction, which can cause chafing and skin irritations. It’s also a common ingredient in diaper creams.
But over the past few decades, talc has been found to be connected to several types of cancer and respiratory illnesses like asthma, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer.
We may not have known about these issues for a very long time, but we do now. So why is it still on store shelves? Is it worth the risk… knowing what we do now? Not when there are safer alternatives available!
The Universal Salve Essential Oil-Free Formula is versatile and a must-have for moms dealing with post-partum and breastfeeding challenges. And unlike other manufacturers, the safety and efficacy of our all-natural products are completely intentional. Safety will always be our number-one concern.
Ways to Get Even More Mastitis Relief
When applying the Universal Salve to an inflamed area of mastitis, it works quickly to draw out the inflammation, offering much-needed relief from the pain and swelling associated with this condition. The Universal Salve Essential Oil-Free Formula should be your first line of defense against mastitis and other postpartum problems. If you can get a handle on a blocked milk duct before it turns into mastitis, you’ll be even better off.
